Game9bit.com.pk respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our readers and contributors to do the same. This page explains our position on copyright, how we use third-party material, and the exact procedure for submitting a takedown notice or a counter-notice.
1. Our Position on Copyright
Game9bit is an independent gaming news and reviews publication based in Pakistan. We publish original written work — news reports, reviews, guides, and opinion pieces — created by our own team and contributors.
We do not host, store, distribute, or link to:
- Pirated or cracked copies of games, applications, or software
- Key generators, licence bypasses, or activation cracks
- Ripped game assets, full soundtracks, or complete art books
- Modified game clients designed to cheat or bypass payment systems
- Torrent files or direct download links for infringing material
If you find any such material on our Site — including in a user comment — please report it immediately to [email protected] and we will remove it.
2. Use of Third-Party Material
Like every gaming publication, our articles include material owned by others: game screenshots, logos, box art, key art, short gameplay clips, and product images.
All such material remains the property of its respective owner. Game titles, publisher names, developer names, character names, and platform logos are trademarks of their respective holders. Game9bit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any publisher, developer, platform holder, or app store unless a specific article states otherwise.
We use this material in a limited way for the purposes of news reporting, criticism, commentary, review, and education. We believe this constitutes fair use under the doctrine recognised in copyright law, and fair dealing under the Copyright Ordinance 1962 of Pakistan and equivalent provisions in other jurisdictions.
Specifically, we aim to:
- Use only what is necessary to illustrate the point being made
- Attribute material to its owner where the owner is identifiable
- Never present third-party material as our own original work
- Never use material in a way that substitutes for the original product
- Use official press assets where publishers make them available
If you are a rights holder and you believe a particular use on our Site goes beyond this, we want to hear from you. In most cases a short email resolves the matter far faster than a formal notice.
3. Submitting a Copyright Infringement Notice
If you are a copyright owner, or authorised to act on behalf of one, and you believe material on Game9bit.com.pk infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice.
3.1 Required Information
To be effective, your notice must include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, provide a representative list.
- Identification of the infringing material, with enough detail for us to locate it. Please provide the full URL of the specific page, and where possible describe the exact element — for example “the third image in the article” or “paragraphs four through seven”.
- Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A good-faith statement, in these or substantially similar words: “I have a good faith belief that use of the copyrighted material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
- A statement of accuracy and authority, in these or substantially similar words: “I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the information in this notification is accurate and that I am the copyright owner, or am authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
- Your physical or electronic signature. A typed full name in an email sent from a verifiable address is acceptable as an electronic signature.
3.2 Where to Send It
Email (preferred): [email protected] Subject line: Copyright Infringement Notice — [Article URL]
Notices sent to any other address may be delayed. Please do not send takedown requests through social media direct messages or blog comments.
3.3 Incomplete Notices
Notices missing any of the six required elements may not be actionable and may be returned to you for completion. We are not able to act on vague complaints such as “you used my picture, take it down” without a specific URL and identification of the work.
4. What Happens After We Receive a Notice
- Acknowledgement. We aim to acknowledge receipt within three business days.
- Review. We assess whether the notice is complete and whether the use identified appears to be infringing or is likely covered by fair use, fair dealing, licence, or press-asset permission.
- Action. If the claim appears valid, we will remove or disable access to the material expeditiously — typically within five business days of a complete notice. We may remove the specific asset, edit the article, or unpublish the page entirely depending on the circumstances.
- Notification. If the material was submitted by a contributor or commenter, we will notify them and provide a copy of the notice, including your contact details, so that they may submit a counter-notice if they wish. Please be aware that your notice will be shared with the person who posted the material.
- Records. We retain copies of all notices and our responses.
If we believe the use is clearly permitted — for example, an officially distributed press screenshot used in a review of that same game — we may respond explaining our position rather than removing the material immediately. We will always engage with you in good faith.
5. Counter-Notification
If your material was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice.
5.1 Required Information
A counter-notice must include:
- Identification of the removed material and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement of consent to jurisdiction, in substantially these words: “I consent to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Pakistan, or, if my address is outside Pakistan, of any jurisdiction in which Game9bit may be found, and I will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notification or their agent.”
- Your physical or electronic signature.
5.2 Where to Send It
Email: [email protected] Subject line: DMCA Counter-Notification — [Article URL]
5.3 What Happens Next
We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not notify us within ten to fourteen business days that they have filed legal action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the removed material at our discretion.
6. Misrepresentation
Submitting a false or bad-faith copyright claim has consequences. Any person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees incurred by us or by the person whose content was affected.
Please do not use this process to remove negative reviews, unfavourable coverage, factual reporting you dislike, or material you do not actually own the rights to. Copyright law protects creative expression, not reputations, and it does not protect facts, news, prices, or ideas.
7. Repeat Infringer Policy
Game9bit maintains a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts and contributor privileges of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.
Contributors who submit plagiarised or infringing material will have their work removed and their relationship with Game9bit ended. Commenters who repeatedly post infringing links will be blocked.
8. Trademark Complaints
If you believe your trademark has been used improperly on our Site — as distinct from a copyright issue — email [email protected] with:
- Your trademark registration details and jurisdiction
- The URL where the alleged misuse appears
- An explanation of why the use is likely to cause confusion
Please note that using a trademarked game or company name to accurately identify and discuss that game or company is nominative fair use and is not trademark infringement.
9. Reporting Infringement of Our Content
We also enforce our own rights. All original articles, reviews, guides, and photography published on Game9bit.com.pk are protected by copyright.
If you find our work republished elsewhere without permission or attribution, we would be grateful if you would let us know at [email protected].
Permitted use of our content: you may quote a short extract for the purposes of commentary or news reporting, provided you clearly attribute it to Game9bit.com.pk and include a direct link to the original article.
Not permitted: wholesale republication, translation without permission, scraping, AI training use, or rewriting our articles to pass them off as original work.
For syndication or reprint permission, contact [email protected].
